In the event you have decided that you are determined to make it as an affiliate marketer you have probably started asking yourself the question of, what is the best affiliate program to promote, and rightly so. Determining which product or service to invest your time and effort into with the intent of obtaining the best return on your investment is no laughing matter.
This is without a doubt a very important decision to make because quite frankly, your success as an affiliate may be determined on this very decision. Choose the right product and you could be smiling on your way to the bank every day. Make the wrong choice and you will probably still find yourself working for the boss you hope to someday fire.
When I first started out as an aspiring affiliate marketer I searched high and low for the perfect programs, products and services to promote. I spent many hours researching places like Commission Junction and Clickbank with the intent to become an Internet marketing superstar. As it turns out, I made quite a few mistakes along the way and failed to consider many important aspects of running a profitable online business.
Some of these mistakes included not developing a proper plan to promote my chosen product. I also failed to conduct the necessary market research in order to find out what items were hot sellers, what products online buyers were purchasing and what trends were on the rise.
I also failed to take into account commission rates and this hurt my profit margins in the beginning when I first started. The fact is, some products pay a 3% commission while others can pay as high 75%. As you can see, that is quite a difference in payouts and it can dramatically affect how much you make from your marketing efforts so finding a product that pays well is a must.
Other factors which I failed to consider but must be taken into account in order for you to be an affiliate marketing superstar include the product’s sales letter. Pay close attention at the layout, the sales copy and graphics. Ask yourself if you would buy the product based on the information you see. If the answer is yes then you may have a winner, if the answer is no then keep looking.
These items along with a few others proved to be the difference between my success and failure as an affiliate now that I have spent years finding out what really works and what it takes to make money from affiliate marketing I’m ready to pass that knowledge on to others in order to save them time, avoid frustration and actually make a profit.
